We are very pleased to be able to a announce the results for the AFTAL awards 2011. This is only the second year, but it is already more competitive, and we can see that more dealers will be upping their game this year with the hope of winning an award next year!
Last year we provided the nominations, and the board members were excluded. This time you made the nominations your self, but next time we will improve it by using a system that they use for the Oscars, whereby you will have to provide your nominations first, and then these will be cut down to perhaps 3 or 2 and you will then vote only for those nominated. This system will also then provide 'runners up' in the former of a 'nominated for' position.
We also need to look at broadening at possibly adding another category, or perhaps dropping one, but that will again be decided by the members, so look out for the voting forms alter in the year.
After counting, the awards finally went to Garry King of Autografica for Dealer of the Year, Dominic Manning of Behind the Scenes for In Person Dealer of the Year, and Marcus Brandes for Website of the Year,
this being the second award that Marcus has now won. No date has yet been fixed for the presentation of the awards, but it is hoped that something will be arranged later in the year. In the meantime, well done all three winners and look out for the new format for voting for this years (next years!) awards.
